About
A migraine tracker for when you can’t deal with a tracker
Migraine Tracker: Capture is an iPhone app for recording migraines with as little effort as possible. It saves the moment first and asks for everything else later, if at all.
The problem it is built for
Many people are asked to keep a migraine diary, often by a doctor, and many give up. In public app reviews and migraine forums, the reasons repeat: logging feels like homework, apps ask a list of questions just to note that an attack has started, and a bright screen is the last thing anyone wants to look at during one. When the diary stops, so does the record that would have answered “how many migraine days did you have?”
How it works, and why
- Save now, details later. One tap saves the start of a migraine with the time. Severity, impact, medication and notes are offered afterwards, and every one of them can be skipped.
- A partial record still counts. A migraine with only a start time is still a record, and it still counts as a migraine day.
- Counts that explain themselves. History and the appointment summary say how each number was counted and what information is missing.
- A calm screen. Few words and few buttons. The app follows your iPhone’s light or dark appearance, or you can choose one.
What it does
- Saves a migraine in one tap, from the app or the Home Screen widget.
- Logs medication in one tap, during a migraine or on any other day.
- Lets you add details later, mark a record as a headache, or add a migraine you missed.
- Shows your migraine history, with days with a migraine recorded, headache days and days with medication. See how migraine days are counted.
- Creates a summary for your appointment, as text or a PDF.
- Works in English, German, Spanish and Italian.
Recording, History, the medication log, the widget and the last-30-days summary are free. Longer summary periods come with Lifetime, an optional one-time purchase. There is no subscription.
What it deliberately doesn’t do
It doesn’t diagnose, predict or treat migraine, and it gives no medical or dosing advice. It doesn’t analyse triggers, forecast migraines from the weather, or offer AI insights. It is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device, and it doesn’t replace a clinician’s care.
Your records stay yours
There is no account. Records are saved on your iPhone first and, if you are signed in to iCloud, sync through the private database of your own iCloud account. They are not sent to us, and we run no server that could read them. They leave your device only when you choose to share or export them.
The app uses one third-party service, RevenueCat, to keep a record of in-app purchases. It never receives your migraine records. There are no ads, no advertising SDK and no product analytics. The privacy policy has the details.
Who makes it
Migraine Tracker: Capture is made by Roman Bun, an independent developer. The guides on this site are written by the developer, not by clinicians. Where they mention a medical definition, they quote the source and link to it.
